Safer Sustainable Performance

ECO2 products represent a breakthrough in the flooring industry by combining unmatched performance characteristics with the latest in GREEN advancements. ECO2 LEVEL cementitious products use refined recycled glass, in place of silica sand, to dramatically increase performance, while being much safer to install. ECO2 products contribute to LEED® objectives and requirements, and self-leveling materials include a LEED v4 Certificate of Recycled Content.

ECO2 powder products use recycled glass aggregate instead of mined sand.

ECO2 powder products contain no harmful crystalline silica.

Lifecycle of Mined Sand

After air and water, sand is the world’s most consumed natural resource. Cementitious products require a more cohesive sand than deserts can provide, so it must come from riverbeds, coastlines, and open pits where it is found. According to the UN, over 50 billion tons of sand is extracted from these areas every year, and it is a depleting resource with enormous environmental impact. As the world rapidly grows, alternatives are needed to help protect ecosystems from irrevocable harm. ECO2 provides the solution by offering the first complete line of sustainable, silica-sand-free products that use recycled glass aggregate instead of mined sand.

ECO2 powder products contain no harmful crystalline silica.

Risks of Crystalline Silica

Crystalline silica is a common mineral used in many industrial products and at construction sites. Materials like sand, concrete, stone and mortar contain crystalline silica. Inhaling very small crystalline silica particles can cause multiple diseases, including silicosis, lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and kidney disease.*
